Cultural weddings are full of colour, culture and life! Often with an average of 300 guests. It takes meticulous planning to pull off a couple’s desire alongside their budget and their family‘s expectations. With cultural weddings, interracial weddings and traditional marriage ceremonies, multiple cultures and tribes come together.

All expectations need to be managed whilst retaining focus on the couple, avoiding the pressing family demands that can cause a hijack – we make it our job to keep it as “Your Day.” Because it is “Our Job”, we can deal with issues objectively and not emotionally, leaving out the possible hurt that tends to occur as a result of couples objection to hostile family take overs … we know this can happen!

With an African Wedding; be it a Nigerian wedding, Ghanaian wedding, Congolese wedding, Zimbabwean wedding or even a Fusion/Interracial wedding, you will require a very large room for your reception. Same applies for an Asian wedding, Jewish Wedding, Caribbean wedding or Afro-Caribbean, Gypsy/Traveler wedding. You will require enough space for dinner and dance for your guest numbers – as cultural weddings don’t tend to run in the typical English fashion of Wedding Breakfast, clear out, Evening Reception – it is just one continuous lively party from start to finish. Based on this we always consider spaces based on their dinner and dance layout capacities, as we often don’t tend to turn rooms around.

With a wedding full of passion, love and laughter – from the bold colours, looks, loud music, spicy food and traditions – it is always a delight to curate a bubbly gathering. As your Wedding Planner we work with you to create a detailed design, source, design and style your venue, recommend vendors, oversee all activities to ensure a flawless execution of your wedding day. See our Service page for full details on what we offer and how we work.

Cultural Fact:

The inclusion of the kola nut ritual is an important part of the Igbo tradition. The kola nut is broken and eaten when a host welcomes a guest into his home, and it’s a powerful symbol of mutual respect and community.
